What is a landing page?

A landing page is the page a customer “lands on” after clicking on an ad.

A landing page can be any webpage. Usually it is a page specially designed to direct the person’s interest into an action, rather than a more generic webpage, such as a company’s homepage.

The reason advertisers use landing pages, rather than home pages as the click-through-destination, is because home pages are not designed to translate interest into an action.
